| BOBST at IPEX: ‘Experience’ events for Commercial Printers and Packaging Manufacturers a great success. Large numbers pre-register for COMPETENCE' 10 |
|
IPEX2010 went well for BOBST with a large number of visitors, including many new contacts, visiting its show stand and two off-site ‘experience’ venues. At IPEX itself, a large scale 3D animation demonstrated to full effect the BOBST know-how in the field of adding value to commercial print and carton products. Off-site, the two visitor experiences were particularly well attended, especially by visitors originating from South and South-East Asia, Oceania, and South Africa. Extra transportation had to be laid on to meet demand for visits to these venues.

The Commercial Print Experience, held at the BOBST Resource Centre in nearby Redditch, allowed visitors to see production machines developed by BOBST especially for printers in this sector. A COMMERCIAL 106 diecutter and a VISIONFOLD 110 A-2 commercial folder gluer were used to produce capacity folders with a 7mm gusset.
A Packaging Experience was held at the Printing & Packaging Company in Hinckley, a regional carton maker which had agreed to accept show visitors interested in the manufacture of packaging using BOBST equipment. The company’s machine stock includes, among others, two ‘Next Generation’ lines - an EXPERTCUT 106 PER diecutter and a MASTERFOLD 110 A-3 folder-gluer.

Large number of IPEX2010 visitors pre-registered their interest in BOBST’s COMPETENCE’10 show, which will give them the opportunity to be among the first to see a number of significant innovations in the conversion and enhancement of paperboard, synthetic materials, and corrugated board. Developed by the new "Business Unit Sheet Fed”, which brings together the activities of BOBST, ASITRADE and MARTIN, COMPETENCE’10 will be held at BOBST’s main production facility in Mex, Switzerland from the 22nd to 28th September 2010.
