Bobst Group will present its latest technologies for converting plastic film and other flexible materials at the K’2007 Intl. Plastics Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, Germany from 24th to 31st October, on stand 3 - D52 in Hall 3.

This will include both primary and secondary slitting & rewinding from ATLAS & TITAN, solutions in vacuum web coating & metallizing from GENERAL, flexo printing technology from SCHIAVI and gravure printing and coating & laminating solutions from ROTOMEC.
ATLAS is the world’s leading manufacturer of primary slitter rewinders for plastic film, providing solutions for customers on all 5 continents. ATLAS has designed the world’s largest & fastest slitting machines for plastic film and has installed more than 170 primary film slitters worldwide exceeding 6 m in width, including several at 10 metres wide. For some types of film, running speeds can be as high as 1500 m/min.
The company also has a range of secondary slitter rewinders processing plain and metallized film, filmic labelstock and other flexible materials in narrower widths up to approx. 3 metres. Fully automated and integrated roll handling systems can also be supplied to meet specific production requirements.
TITAN provides secondary slitting, rewinding and handling solutions for plain, metallized and converted plastic film mainly for flexible packaging applications. The TITAN SR8 twin shaft cantilever machine is it’s most successful to date with more than 100 machines now sold since its introduction in 2004. The TITAN CT610 is a fully automated turret rewinder for high volume slitting applications with minimum downtime between reel sets. TITAN will also première its first environmentally friendly solution at K’2007. More details will be made available later.
GENERAL (GENERAL Vacuum Equipment Ltd. / GVE) is a leading supplier of vacuum web coating and metallizing solutions for producers and converters of plastic film worldwide. This includes the deposition of conventional aluminium and also clear barrier coatings for packaging films, decorative and label applications. GENERAL also makes vacuum coaters for high technology coatings, including for the production of solar cells, medical applications, touch screen and computer displays.
For aluminium metallizing, GENERAL's machines provide minimal downtime and superb coating quality, at high production speeds. The latest high volume vacuum metallizers are the GENERAL K5000 and K4000 machines with more than 27 installations worldwide since their introduction only 2 years ago.
Machines such as the OptiLab and OptiCoat allow development and pilot production of a variety of high value functional coatings for optical and conductive applications, flexible circuit boards for electronics, photo voltaic and medical applications. GVE is highly experienced at helping customers bring their laboratory results successfully to the next stage of production.
Designed as flexible solutions to the varied requirements of flexo printers, SCHIAVI’s electronic CI flexo presses for printing flexible materials are renowned for delivering consistently high end graphics with fast turnaround. New SCHIAVI products include the 10c EF 5060 and 8c EF 4060 flexo presses, both introduced earlier in 2007. The design of SCHIAVI flexo presses is very functional with operator-friendly features and press control systems which enhance press performance in terms of fast job make-ready and changeovers, providing greater value and profitability for the end user. SCHIAVI’s production also includes a range of compact laminators.
With its longstanding experience in laminating and special coating technologies, ROTOMEC is a world-renowned provider of solutions for a wide range of applications in coating and laminating for flexible packaging, pressure sensitive tapes, labelstock and specialities. Information will be available on ROTOMEC’s all new CL 850 laminating machine, which will be available for viewing at ROTOMEC’s production plant in Italy. Extrusion coating technology is another field of great expertise for ROTOMEC which, since 1965 has installed and rebuilt more than 120 lines all over the world. ROTOMEC’s extrusion coating machines are fully integrated turn-key lines which can be custom-built for a wide variety of applications and feature the most advanced components and technical solutions currently available in this field. This is also a result of the close collaboration in extrusion coating technology established between ROTOMEC and Reifenhäuser Extrusion GmbH & Co. KG, in June 2006.
