VIGIER Cartonnages folds and glues with the world’s first BOBST VISIONFOLD |
|
In order to broaden its markets and to continue to meet the needs of its customers, VIGIER Cartonnages this spring invested in a VISIONFOLD, one of the latest generation of BOBST folder-gluers, and the world’s first installation of such a line. The Lyon company specializes in manufacturing solid board, corrugated, and plastic cases and was established ten years ago by Michel VIGIER and his son Christophe, who runs the company today. The plant has been exclusively equipped with BOBST machines over the years, including an SP 102-EII Autoplaten® press in 1998, a Domino 110 MII folder-gluer in 1999, an SP 102-EII in 2001, and the new VISIONFOLD 145 folder-gluer in 2008.

The company’s small structure and powerful team enable it to be both reactive and flexible, and to specialize in complex work. It is that rare bird that is much more than a traditional carton maker, producing automatic crashlocks, 4 and 6 corner boxes, double walled cartons, and CD wallets, as well as straight-line and conical cartons. New capacities to answer increased demand for corrugated Increased orders over several months led the company to seek a large format folder-gluer for its corrugated work. The choice of a VISIONFOLD 145 has provided the company with additional assets to reinforce its carton making activities. In addition to folding and gluing N, F, E, B and E/B-flutes, the VISIONFOLD ensures the versatility of the company’s machine stock by supplementing the Domino on solid fibreboard work. To ensure the company will be able to deliver the products its customers’ need, VIGIER Cartonnages commissioned a full training program for its operators on the new equipment.
